George Nooks, a.k.a.Prince Mohamed, Prince Mohammed, or George Knooks (born c. ) is a Jamaican reggae singer who initially found fame as a deejay.
Biography
[edit]Nooks started his musical career in the youth choir at his church, and moved on to perform at school concerts and talent shows. After first recording professionally in , Nooks first found success performing under the name Prince Mohamed, as a deejay on discomix tracks for producer Joe Gibbs, notably on Dennis Brown's hit "Money in my Pocket", and "How Could I Leave", as well as "Light Up Your Spliff" for producer Prince Tony Robinson, founder of the Groovemaster roots record label, which also featured popular releases by Barrington Spence and Big Youth.[1] He moved on to work with other producers such as Alvin Ranglin and Bunny Riley. His first album, a joint effort with General Echo, People Are You Ready, was released on the United Artists

Biography of George Nooks
Born in Kingston, George Nooks attended Oberlin High School and after leaving school Nooks tried his best to get into the music business by entering and winning several talent shows. It was not long before he was making guest appearances at scen shows.
Like most great singers, multiple award winner in the Tamika Reggae Award George Nooks started his musical career in the church. George, who was on the youth choir at his church, soon found out that he wanted to do much more than sing in a choir. Before long, he was performing at school concerts and according to him he "always managed to mash up the place."
He was so impressive that before long he was appearing on major stage shows such as Joe Gibbs' "Ultra Dread Show" at the Tropics Club and Palace.
