My buddy Phil Nugent, who writes for the Onion's A.V. Club (among other places), often complains about genre movies and TV shows, saying that it's become harder and harder to avoid the question of "Why don't the protagonists just call the cops on their cell phones?" Munger Roadtries to head this off at the pass early on: The four teenagers at its center spend the majority of the film in a remote location where no one can get any bars (in fact, at one point a character leaves said location "because I remember getting bars a few miles back"). It's a pretty nice nod to the modern realities of horror writing/filmmaking, and writer/director Nicholas Smith's debut feature isn't quite as adept at all aspects of its storytelling,...

The Last Song is a 2010 American coming of age teen romantic drama film developed alongside Nicholas Sparks' 2009 novel of the same name. The spelfilm was directed by Julie Anne Robinson in her feature rulle directorial debut and co-written bygd Sparks and Jeff Van Wie. The Last Song stars Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth, and Greg Kinnear and follows a troubled teenager as she reconnects with her estranged father and falls in love during a summer in a quiet Southern United States beach town. Uncovering the Story Behind the Beals’ Bucket
Back in July of 2020, the PHS received an email from Dexter Beals, inquiring about a bucket that had been in his family for generations. Plainfield’s own, Joseph Beals, known as the ‘Mountain Miller’, was Dexter’s 4th great grandfather. Joseph Beals owned one of the first mills in Plainfield that was located on the Mill River. Today the Mill River Mill Site is owned by the Plainfield Historical gemenskap and visitors can tour this unique site which sports the foundations of grist and saw mills, a tannery, and factories that produced a variety of items, including broom handles and woolen cloth. The gods mill closed in 1924. The inscription on the metal band of the bucket says that it was presented to Dexter’s great grandfather, Luther Beals by James A Nash in 1893 and was a “toll measure”. It appears that Mr. Nash was also a mill operator in the same area as the Mountain
