    American journalist born

    Katherine Jean Bolduan[1][2][3] (;[4] born July 28, ) is an American broadcast journalist and news anchor for CNN based in New York City. She is currently a co-anchor of CNN News Central,[5] and previously anchored State of America with Kate Bolduan, New Day and At This Hour with Kate Bolduan.[6] She also served as a congressional correspondent based in Washington, D.C., as well as a general assignment correspondent for the network.

    Early life and education

    A native of Goshen, Indiana,[7] she is the third of four daughters born to Dr. Jeffrey Bolduan, and to Nadine Bolduan, a nurse.[8] Her mother is of Belgian heritage.[9][10] Kate Bolduan was educated at Goshen High School, a public high school in her home city, followed by George Washington University, from which she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude in ,&

Her first book, Beyond the Color Line and the Iron Curtain: Reading Encounters between Black and Red, remaps black American modernism by addressing the involvement of African-American intellectuals with Soviet communism and a Russian intellectual heritage. Her most recent book, The Racial Imaginary of the Cold War Kitchen: From Sokol’niki Park to Chicago’s South Side (), examines the relationships between domestic space and cultural diplomacy during the Cold War.
